Attorneys confirmed to 6 News that a New Jersey state trooper who was accused of groping a teenage girl inside a Centre County hotel has entered a guilty plea in the case.

David De Jesus, of Howell, New Jersey, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

Police charged De Jesus last June after the victim told authorities that she had allegedly been molested by him while she and several other families were visiting the State College-area for a wrestling tournament.

Police say, according to the victim, De Jesus was reportedly drinking near the hotel's swimming pool-area and had invited the 14-year-old back to his room.

Authorities say De Jesus reportedly began asking the victim "weird questions," including about her age.

Investigators say De Jesus was visibly intoxicated, according to the victim, and had even allowed the teen to drink some of his alcohol.

De Jesus is scheduled to be sentenced on August 11th.
