A man who beheaded his father and placed it in a freezer on a dinner plate will be transferred for mental health treatment and will not stand trial.

According to the Lancaster County District Attorney in a press release on Monday, 35-year-old Donald Meshey Jr. will be sent to Norristown State Hospital, Torrance State Hospital, or any other approved facility.

The decision comes after Meshey Jr. was charged back in 2021 for the gruesome killing of his 67-year-old father at a home in Lancaster.

The DA states that Meshey Jr. will be reevaluated for trail after 90 days and every 90 days after this.
