Cresson man accused of raping teen

CRESSON -- A Cresson man is facing multiple charges, including raping a 17-year-old girl in late September.

Frederick Brooks III, 38, of the 100 block of Easy Street, is charged with sexual assault, possession of child pornography, corruption of minors and indecent assault.

According to a criminal complaint, Cresson Township police said the girl stayed overnight at his residence with a friend.

The victim said Brooks asked her for sexual favors and held her arms down while having sexual intercourse with her without her consent.

The complaint said Brooks continued to send the girl sexually explicit messages through early November and had pornographic images of the girl saved to his phone.

Brooks is in the Cambria County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $30,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan 24.
